Passing of a Legend
"Our world was rocked this week with the news that Harold Iggy, my dear friend and shaper for over thirty years had passed away from a heart attack while standup paddling in Kailua Bay. His
sudden death came as a shock to us all. Harold was one of the purest, most humble, fittest, and seemingly healthiest men of any age that I have ever known.
For those lucky enough to have known him, Harold Iggy was a very unique and inspiring man. He loved shaping boards with all of his heart. Harold had been making and riding boards of
every shape and size basically his entire life, and did so with total commitment and passion. He shaped with curiosity, an open mind, and a constant desire to improve and discover. He
shaped because he loved it. Whether a shortboard, longboard, windsurfing wave or race board, paddleboard, standup short board or eighteen footer, Harold crafted and rode them all.
Harold Iggy was THE master shaper in every sense of the word, and a true waterman. His eye, his hands, his feeling for curves and what they ultimately came together to do...and his magical
ability to turn a block of foam into a functional work of art was legendary.
His skills and dedication aside, he was simply one of the nicest human beings that ever lived. He had so much to teach, so much to share, and so many amazing stories. He was soft
spoken with a wealth of knowledge, and he never had a bad word to say about anyone or anything. If there is a heaven, you can be sure that Harold was welcomed like few men before him.
Harold’s passing will leave a void in many hearts and many lives. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his beautiful wife, Susan, his two daughters, and his grandson. I feel blessed to
have been able to call him a friend, and I’ll cherish my memories and all that he taught me forever. Harold passed away doing what he loved. He was in the ocean, riding a wave on his
latest masterpiece. May he RIP for eternity, and may his legacy live on through the people whose lives he touched and through the tens of thousands of boards around the world that came from
his hands.
I will miss you Harold.

"Schwerelos [...] in der Hand" mit "satter Gleitleistung und Beschleunigung" überzeugt das Force 2012 "mit federleichtem Manöverhandling" und konnte die Tester als "extrem leichtes und kraftvolles Segel" begeistern. Auf der Welle wirkte das Force "extrem leicht und agil" und zog "kraftvoll durch den Turn, was es besonders bei Bedingungen am unteren Windlimit oder kraftlosen Ostseewellen leichter macht mit viel Speed an der Wellenlippe anzukommen".

Kai Lenny - SUP Wave Worldchamp!
As the final horn blew this morning, announcing the end of the Maresias Pro in Brazil, it was official: Kai Lenny is the 2011 Stand Up World Tour Champion.
In an intense final heat with Brazilian surfer, Leco Salazar, Kai surfed with signature style, combining smooth flow with progressive maneuvers, punctuated by some sick arials in the shorebreak.
Naish is so thrilled for Kai, who we have supported throughout his career, and we are stoked to see all his hard work and dedication pay off.

Stand Up 4 Kids - Gemeinsam gegen Krebs
Paddeln für einen guten Zweck! Zur Förderung des therapeutische Wellenreitens mit krebskranken Kindern, versammelten sich am 07.08. über 60 Teilnehmer, viele Spendenwillige und Zuschauer an der Seebar in Kiel. Insgesamt haben die Teilnehmer mehr als 5000€ erpaddelt und damit die Erwartungen aller Beteiligten bei weitem übertroffen.

Kite + SUP Festival 9.-11.09. in Pelzerhaken
Diesen Termin solltet ihr euch ganz fett anstreichen: Vom 9. bis 11. September startet am Strand von Pelzerhaken die Kiteparty der Superlative rund um das brandneue Naish 2012er-Material und anderer Marken - natürlich kann alles frei getestet werden.
„Pelze“ ist nicht nur bei der Infrastruktur auf der Überholspur. Die boomende Surfcity bekommt ab diesem Jahr ein zusätzliches Mega-Event: Vom 9. bis 11. September bringt das „KITE&SUP Festival“ den Strand mit einem wahren Mammut-Programm zum Kochen.
An einem der größten Stehreviere der Ostsee präsentieren alle wichtigen Kite- und SUP-Hersteller ihr gesamtes Materialangebot, das allen Besuchern zum Testen zur Verfügung steht. Ihr genießt dabei ein perfektes Wochenende voller Surf-Life mit riesiger Camping-Area direkt am Wasser, jeder Menge Surf-VIPs und natürlich hammergeilen Partys direkt am Strand. Das Festival öffnet täglich zwischen 10 und 18 Uhr, am Freitag und Samstag startet anschließend ein fettes Partyprogramm mit Live Acts und DJ.
